The City of Caldwell is seeking applicants for a Road Technician II.

The City of Caldwell Street Department is looking for a Road Technician II. Individual will perform manual labor and operate a variety of equipment to construct, repair and maintain the City’s streets, curbs, sidewalks and drainage systems; performs related work as required; operates heavy equipment; performs related work as required.

Education, Training and/or Experience Required:

• A minimum of two years of work experience demonstrating proficiency in the operation of light and medium equipment and tools.
• At least six months as a Road Tech I level will qualify. 

Licenses, Certifications and Other Requirements: 

• Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
• Possession of State of Idaho Class A CDL, No Restrictions with Tanker Endorsement.
• Flagger certification.
• CPR certification.
• First aid certified.
• Position is subject to on-call and service response within a specified amount of time.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check, drug testing and physical.
• DOT random drug testing. 

Preferred:

• Additional Endorsements: Doubles/Triples; Hazmat
• Road Scholar

If claiming Veteran's Preference, you must submit a DD214, Certificate of Release from Active Duty, which shows dates of service and discharge under honorable conditions. If currently on active duty, you must submit a certification of expected discharge or release from active-duty service under honorable conditions not later than 120 days after the date the certification is submitted. Veteran's preference must be verified prior to appointment. Without this documentation, you will not receive Veteran's Preference, and your application will be evaluated based on the material(s) submitted.
