The City of Caldwell Street Department's mission is to maintain safe driving conditions within the City of Caldwell's city limits. Our purpose is to respond to public concerns, safety hazards and ensure proper signage of streets and roadways. The street department also maintains drains, street & traffic signs, bridges, signal lights, alleys, sweeping of streets, chip-sealing to ensure better road quality, winter snowplowing, and sanding.
Information
New traffic signage or pavement markings need approval:
Any new first time traffic control signage or pavement markings that were not pre-existing must be approved through the Traffic Commission. Once approval is granted, the Street Department will be instructed to install. For more information about the Traffic Commission, call Tammy Frans, Executive Assistant to the Caldwell Public Works Director:
Street Banner Policy:
By request, the City of Caldwell Street department installs over-the-street banners for promotion and announcement of public events. A copy of the Banner Policy and Specifications may be obtained at the link below or from the City Clerk, located at 411 Blaine St. Banners are to be constructed according to the specifications the City has set. There is a fee of a minimum of $400.00 per banner for the posting and removing of a banner for all parties, except government and non-profit entities.
